  1. The snake king's blood was probably dinoflagates, microbes that causes blooms in Mediterranean waters and poison it. This is the same microbe that appeared in the stories of Moses in the Bible as a plague, where the rivers ran red with "blood." (seriously, can't people tell the viscosity between blood and water? Where did the term "blood is thicker than water" —or family ties are stronger than other relationships—come from if they didn't know the difference?)
