So dragons live in mountains and hoard gold. Seraphim are known as copper serpents with wings and long, fiery nostrils that blow smoke.
My thoughts:
Copper is easily smelted and cast, hammered and drawn into wire.
Gold is an impurity of copper. In fact, the source of gold in the US is copper mines.
Another thing that the description of a dragon snout could be is a volcano. Clastic volcanoes are tall and cone - shaped, spewing smoke or dust (and rock) like Mt. St. Helens. This is as opposed to shield volcanoes such as Mt. Pele in Hawaii that are mostly lava.
Still, clastic volcanoes also issue lava. And this could be the vision of a dragon's nostrils and head. Lava itself is golden in color and might be thought of as a dragon's hoard. And dust and smoke can look like all manner of things.
But I think this all reduces religion to idol worship, and there is so much more to Judaism, Islam, and Christianity.
And one more item, the Christian New Testament seems to present a God that is much different from the Old Testament God. To me, it seemed to me that the Old Testament was like teaching children, while the New Testament seemed like teaching teens and adults.
