  1. How come I've never heard of sand from the Sahara crossing the ENTIRE Atlantic Ocean to settle in South America? I've been living 56 years and never encountered such information. In fact, the reason the US gets so many hurricanes on the East Coast is they come from the Sahara. Tropical depressions form on Africa's west coast, removing heat from the Sahara and travel to the US as tropical storms or hurricanes. The US is the Sahara's air conditioner.
