  1. I think the best or at least the most loving one is to give the hiccupper a hug. Since you said the vagus nerve was involved, that makes a lot of sense now,since the hugger is pressing on the huggee's vagus nerve.

OFF TOPIC but I think it's connected with the vagus nerve and the vagus nerve is involved in relaxing, I think, I saw a video of traditional throat singing in which the 2 ladies singing were pressed against each other's chest, and I wonder if that helps them open their throat to sing that way or if it helps define the beat of the music to get the notes right. Physiology and music are amazing mechanisms!
