  1. I was very fortunate to be in in the era of maxipads and didn't have to wear a sanitary belt. I managed to purchase pads accidentally for that. They had no plastic backs. I never made that mistake again. But now I understand where the phrase "wear an extra pad" came from. Using the old pads you could actually wear a double pad. (Though wearing a single one of those pads made no sense either since there was nothing to protect your clothing.) Today, it makes no sense since there's the plastic backing. Where would the extra pad go?

  2. You definitely have to find the right sponge. Personally, I wouldn't, because if you got the wrong sponge, the glass spicules could cut you badly in that very sensitive area. And give you splinters.

  3. Awesome experiment! People do like comfort when they sleep, for sure! I'm not surprised at the materials, but it's nice to know lo tech wins out again for sufficient comfort. I can see the day to change the beds. Mommy dumps out all the hay outside and washes the bags. Daddy comes by dragging a heap of hay dried in the field. Mommy stuffs the bags with hay very full and puts them on the floor. Then the parents say, "okay, kids! Jump on the beds!" Which the children do with zeal and lots of giggling and shrieking and having fun!

  4. I definitely was socialized into embarrassment surrounding periods. Even when I wasn't embarrassed about public leaks, I really didn't want my clothes all bloodstained. Especially white garments. For those who want to remove blood, another YouTuber Mama Doctor Jones OB/GYN said you can use meat tenderizer.
