  1. Parents clamoring for a vaccine. My dad contracted polio in 1953 at 13 years old. That was when parents were clamoring for a vaccine. My Mom and Dad, in their 20's when they had children, sat on pins and needles till I and my sisters could get the vaccine. My Mom is almost 80 years old, and Dad (who lived to 2001) would have been 81. Mom and Dad were of the clamoring generation. It is quite telling that the generation in their 80's, as a group, demanded the Covid -19 vaccine, and showed up in droves to get it. It seems that a lot of cohorts in between 1953 and today didn't get the message that vaccines have saved and save billions of lives. (millions if you must correct me, but the population worldwide increased by a few billion in that time.)
