It would really be expensive to hide all that. And there are people who take trips to Antarctica in large groups.

@DamonMacready It says God moved upon the waters, and He separated the heavens from the Earth. That's all it says. No mention of the shape of the globe. Oops? Did I say globe?

IF the Earth were flat, and we accept that gravity is even all over the Earth (they say that), then the plane must go in a circle if it is not going north or south. If the plane goes east or west, the main part of the flight will have angular momentum because of going around a curve, the same as you would when your car goes around a curve. You and the other passengers and all the stuff on board will be pushed to one side or the other. An object suspended on a string will swing outward toward the outside of the curve the plane would be taking. On a globe, gravity is directed downward across the globe, but if you are in a plane and suspend your object on a string, the object stays on the bottom of its possible positions because you are not making angular momentum to the left or right. The plane moves straight ahead when it goes east to west and west to east without any difference in feel because the plane is going forward parallel to the earth as it makes a journey. The only way that can happen is if the Earth is spherical. You don't make a constant swerve to one side or the other, and you can remain upright the entire flight.

Check the level laid perpendicular to the fuselage. Does the bubble ever go left or right while cruising in the air? No? Then there is no angular momentum in that direction, something that is necessary in a flat earth when going on an East - West trajectory. Another Flat - Earth Assumption exploded.

Fortunately, there are enough wise people to offset that. Look at all the people inventing and bringing technology to the public, and the fools buy them. (Wise people do, too; I'm talking about fools in the context of science.)

@iluminaticonfirmed34 I dunno. My mom (BSBA in Accounting) used to say, "If I'm so smart [she is], why ain't I rich?" And I say the same with my 2 degrees.

That would be a hard island to live on —a tinny one. Tin is rather a harsh environment. (😉 I'm just messing with ya! 😉)

@rogerfroud300 Okay. I take the Bible as written by men who were divinely inspired. The true message is there but hidden because of the limited capacity of the inspired to articulate it to themselves, much less to other people. Appropos of that, there are things people take as common knowledge. The Earth being a globe could easily be that. Also, apparent motion could indicate that. There were Middle Eastern philosophers observing the sky and Earthly phenomena with camera obscuras. They themselves assumed the Earth, other planets, and moons were roughly spherical, and their mechanism for their assumed geocentric solar (?) system included invisible epicycles for the Planets. While this was a cumbersome and limited theory, it did show that you can't really change the Earth, ands everything is at the beck and call of the Earth.

That's a good point. The Flat - Earth people insist the Earth geography has all the land masses in that circle, like the United Nations Logo, which they cite as proof. But even in space, you can only see one hemisphere at a time. How? Earth is a globe. Flat Earth assumptions are now completely exploded.

I can tell you from experience that physics principles are tested in physics labs. In high school and in college, with very simple machines. I have done these very things. I have measured the force of gravity, shown that a ball dropped from the same height as a ball thrown parallel to the ground will hit the ground simultaneously. I have done the double-slit experiment with a laser. I assume a flat-earther believes in lasers. You can get them for $3.00. I have observed how light is refracted through lenses. All with simple setups.that even a fifth grader can understand. And observations with my eyes and measurements with pencil and paper and measuring sticks that anyone can believe in. And more. Don't assume that if you have a nail whose head faces a wall that you can't hammer it into the wall to hang a picture successfully.

On the water, you can see 12 miles out before an object above water dips below the horizon--the level of the water. So six miles is not far enough. Also, you had your level pointed the wrong way. It needs to be pointed left to right, perpendicular to the fuselage of the plane. A flat Earth predicts your plane going East-West MUST constantly curve, and you would feel a push to one side or the other. The only way you WON'T feel a push is if you were flying North-South. You don't feel a push to one side in any flight during the cruising part of the flight, not even due East or due West. You flew the wrong direction, and you had the level at the wrong direction.

@robertblackwell9919 Thank you. You may quote me.

Flat Earth dogma definitely is a good place for the Dunning - Kruger effect. But it also shows up in medicine and legal arenas as well.
