  1. Did Indiana Jones have a safe place to retreat to? He was surrounded by a tight circle of people. I don't think he could retreat. It's possible that any movement on his part would have triggered retaliation from anyone, not just the scimitar - wielding man. I didn't see where he sheathed his scimitar or otherwise removed the danger to show this was a mere harmless demonstration.
