  1. If there's one thing that I took seriously from Mom and Dad's teaching me (besides follow up, follow up, follow up) is make a paper trail, even if it is keeping a diary of events and work done. It has saved my bacon on several occasions, and at other times it has helped me organize my work and understanding to be able to communicate about it.
