  3. Some sports commentators have said, "There's only five minutes left in the game." But it's amazing how much can be done in five minutes, even when the 30 sec. shot clock is ticking. It's going to be a helluva ride. I had not known about preemptive pardons or testing to see if the president can pardon themself. I thought it was only reasonable pardons like reinstating a formerly - imprisoned citizens to their full rights they've earned by finishing their sentencing requirements. an expungement of sorts. Pardoning a previous president should call for justification like recognition of service or character. No preemptive pardons. No self - pardons. Make close investigations on any pardons made. If we take away the presidential pardon, I would not be unhappy. Or if pardons were made only by the judicial branch. However, if full restoration of rights is automatically given to imprisoned people who have served their sentence, there should not even be a need for a presidential pardon. I say abolish the pardon.

  4. If there will be any reform of the presidential powers, it seems to me that this often happens when the Republican party does so at the expense of a democratic president. So be it. Let the Republicans have my idea to abolish the pardon as they make it unnecessary.
