Ouch. I'm not sure the case law discussed can actually be considered cut and dried. The only thing I can think of right now is to vow not to live in states with such limiting abortion laws. Failing finding such a state that allows abortions compassionately and sensibly, I think that would be the reason I would leave America. If many others thought like I do and would leave states restricting and banning abortions, these states would lose revenue based on population, commerce would reduce and perhaps leave, and then they would wonder why their state is so poor.

Short version: A single heart cell has a beat. Several together synchronize into one. However, such a grouping of cells doesn't make a heart. A baby must be able to breathe when outside the mother. In the past, without NICU available, many babies who died died because they couldn't breathe. There is a test for breathing that can be used to determine if a baby can breathe: the L/S test.
