Sorry, while I am tempted to agree, it just pulls another Alice's Adventures in Wonderland escapade when the King of Hearts said that the note was not signed, and that proved the Knave of Hearts was guilty or he would have signed to note like an honest man.

@thecloudstrief Doesn't it sound like it? No reference or evidence, didn't happen.

My biggest objection about the Senate trial is the systematic tabling of all manager amendments to the Senate trial rules. Nevertheless, while Senator McConnell tabled every amendment and attempted to cut short the managers' opportunities to make their cases about specific issues, the managers demurred submitting, in total, all their amendments at once, because McConnell would the summarily dismiss them all. And Adam Schiff wanted all pieces of evidence mentioned so they didn't get glossed over. And the managers did invoke the Senate privilege of subpoena of any and all documents and witnesses mentioned, reminding the Senate that while these documents and people were withheld from impeachment proceedings, the Senate can compel them to appear. I think the Constitution gives the Senate the power to bodily compel documents AND witnesses. My worry is the trial will take too SHORT a time and pull an Alice in Wonderland and sentence first before hearing evidence or considering their verdict.
