  3. With Trump, it's all or nothing. He won't settle because he's not willing to part with anything and look weak. He doesn't understand that prosecuting a case that is strong is legitimate, especially if a plea deal or settlement is seen as just. Trump doesn't see strength in justice. He sees strength in only being a bully. He looks to Putin and sees a strong man. I see Putin as a tyrant who closed the barn door after the horses escaped. In May, 2022,the first wave of Russian refugees fled. When Putin announced mobilization in September, 2022, or maybe when he was saying he wasn't going to mobilize, a second wave of citizens fled. Finally Putin understood people don't want to fight. So then he cut off all avenues of escape. Putin has had egg on his face ever since. He didn't learn, doesn't learn, and Trump hasn't learned either.
