Patrick McCurry I don't know where you went to school, but science as I was taught from middle grades to high school and in every science class in my B.S. in Zoology and Master of Arts in Teaching in Natural Sciences all required the use of the SI units. It is easily convertible and makes conversions of properties such as density easily used; everything falls into place. Would you rather we use stones and force in foot pounds and confuse everyone by calling mass pounds? It's already hard enough to use ounces and fluid ounces. Besides, when you have an international standard, what's the use of converting it? It is a language that is easy to use and to communicate ideas to others.

My first perception of its shape is that of a planarian. But backward, since it has eyes on the opposite end of the triangle. (Hooray for eyes on stalks!) The platypus had a similar confusing phylogeny, but it's lineage and place in nature was itself discovered, so I have confidence biologists will find homes for these fascinating creatures.
