Yeah, did they even write any good songs? Malmsteen, Vai, and Michael Angelo Batio are much more tasteful with absolutely zero ego.

@leonmohan1708 : Neck feels better to play, companies who do good relic jobs (say Fender CS) tend to use better quality woods for their builds so relics tend to sound better, looks good...there are many reasons. Relics aren't 'dragged through a field' as I've seen some clueless people mention; it takes time to do it properly. More time invested during the making process = more expensive guitar.

@leonmohan1708 : You could of course do that, but it takes years for nitro to wear down and expose the wood underneath so most people are quite happy to cut out the waiting time. I know some people who have bought Custom Shop guitars that for one reason or another have had nitro applied that hasn't cured properly. Nothing worse than sticky lacquer on a neck. Just get rid of it from the area where your hand is in contact when playing. I don't feel like I've not properly bonded properly with my Strat because it has a medium relic job. The thing feels better to play than any non-relic'd guitar I've ever tried.

@leonmohan1708 : They do feel so much better. Try some out and you'll immediately notice the difference. Most people that knock relics have never even picked one up. The vintage guitars from the 50s and 60s that people love and that naturally accumulated wear over time took thirty years (or more) of playing look and feel the way they do. I, and many others, simply don't want to wait that long.
