What benefit would there be? It certainly wouldn't make her more popular. And what party do you vote for that you think would be doing a better job at handling the COVID pandemic? The SNP are democratically elected so don't resort to more bullshit about them being 'authoritarian'.

@user-iz9co4qf6z : At least Scotland is taking a more cautious approach compared to BoJo the Clown which is probably the correct decision given the rapid spread of the Omicron variant. I simply don't buy your rather pathetic argument that this is all about political point scoring on Sturgeon's part. No politician in their right mind wants businesses to shut down in rapid succession or to drive the economy completely into the ground. That doesn't benefit anyone. I noticed you also dodged my question, but given your praise of the compulsive liar Johnson I think we can hazard a guess at your political leanings. Pretty embarrassing to admit to supporting the Tories given their repeated abject failures over the past decade.

@user-iz9co4qf6z : Well, given the Tory government's current lack of financial help towards protecting the hospitality sector, it's not surprising that businesses are struggling (as I mentioned in my previous comment). To repeat my earlier point: very, very few people want to see another lockdown. However, if the choice is between that and health services being completely unable to cope with COVID cases then it might be the only way to deal with the situation. Your claim that politicians want lockdowns for ''attention and media coverage'' is bizarre and ill-founded.
