@johnrussell3961 : That's a bit of a vague and hypothetical answer (particularly with regard to the notion that there is the possibility of ''higher life forms'' emerging should we destroy the planet to such an extent that it can no longer support humans). I was specifically asking about the sacrifices you were referring to that would make your current existence so awful that it's not worth bothering trying to tackle the climate crisis. What in particular do you think we can't give up in order to stop global temperatures rising, ecosystems collapsing, natural resources being depleted at an ever more rapid rate, etc?

@johnrussell3961 : You've still not mentioned what the sacrifices are that would make life ''not worth living''. Can you provide a few examples and explain why they are so awful compared to the disaster we're going to face as a species should we fail to tackle the problem quickly enough?
