@markboggs746 : That emotions are crucially involved when someone commits a crime. You seemed to left that out of your somewhat bromidic initial statement.

@markboggs746 : In cases where emotional outbursts are entirely irrational, hateful, and cause someone harm then yes, they should be punishable by law. Your blanket claim just isn't helpful; each case would need to be examined carefully. If humans had emotions and never acted on them then your point might be valid, but our agency is more complex than that. I fail to see how emotion and action can always be separated.

@markboggs746 : It's perhaps true from a theoretical perspective, but is pretty meaningless in an everyday sense. Emotions drive our actions. You seem to be denying that hate crimes exist and should be punishable by law which is bizarre to say the least.
