@AlanWattResistance : You just going to live under lockdown conditions for the rest of your life then?

No.

The various vaccines are not ''experimental gene therapy''. Where are you getting this nonsense from?
3
@seabreeze4559 : It's not. Stop posting blatant lies.
2
@seabreeze4559 : The WHO have been developing antifertility COVID vaccines since the 80s and these are now being administered to people? What on earth are you on about?
2
@seabreeze4559 : The vaccines are not designed to change DNA or alter genes, that's the point. They don't really involve genes at all; they reply upon mRNA which is the carrier of information from the DNA. It's simply factually incorrect to state that the vaccines target genes. Why people are perpetuating this lie is baffling. Moreover, throwing the word experimental around as a kind of scare tactic in relation to the technology used is also very misleading.

@Dubbermon : Don't even try to use critical thinking or basic philosophy of science with these idiots. They wouldn't understand a logical train of thought if it hit them on the head.

@AlanWattResistance : You could easily pass the virus on to other people even if you are asymptomatic and who knows how it would impact upon someone else's life. That seems wholly irresponsible. Moreover, you really have no idea what the long- term health complications of contracting the disease are; getting the vaccine significantly reduces the likelihood of developing COVID-related issues later in life.
1
@AlanWattResistance : COVID-19 is not the same as influenza so I'm not sure how the comparison is even relevant. Your attitude is irresponsible for the reasons already pointed out my several commenters. You could be asymptomatic therefore stating that you have definitely ''never had the virus nor spread it to anyone'' is disingenuous. As J Andrews asked you, are you frequently testing yourself to know this for sure? And yes, if you class yourself as a member of a responsible society and come into contact with other people, you do have an obligation to stop the spread of a potentially very harmful disease.
1
@AlanWattResistance : No, that's your logic. I've had the vaccine therefore my chances of developing serious complications as a result of contracting the virus are now significantly reduced. You have not had any vaccination hence why I asked earlier if you'd rather live under a state of perpetual lockdown. If you get the disease, chances are that you are going to fare a lot worse than those who have been vaccinated. If that's the risk you want to take, fine. I'm quite happy to come into contact with people again knowing that both myself and others have been vaccinated. You seem to want it both ways; say no to any vaccines and lockdown measures. That's a recipe for disaster given the situation we find ourselves in.
1
@AlanWattResistance : Once again you are flatly comparing COVID-19 with flu. This is just wrong for several reasons. COVID seems to spread more easily than flu. It also results in more severe illness and additional long-term complications for some people who catch the virus. There's also the fact that it can take longer for people who contract COVID to develop symptoms so it can be transferred to larger numbers without being aware the virus is present. One of the main reasons for the COVID vaccines is to slow the spread of the disease. Older people are of course encouraged to get vaccinations for both COVID and flu.
1
@AlanWattResistance : I am concerned, hence why I've already mentioned that it looks like more of a risk not to get the vaccine. Plenty of people haven't had two shots yet so we are still in a precarious position. Again, if want to risk living with long-term health complications should you get the virus, that's totally up to you. I've made my choice based on the fact that I do want to get back to some kind of normality.

Absolutely.
