Where is the middle ground? I have a feeling a lot is an argument between trying to mitigate some of the disasters of climate change that we are now seeing and have been creeping up and on us and farmers, ranchers, business owners and private citizens in rural areas wanting to loosen environmental standards and protections of wildlife. The rural wanting less inclusivity and more homogenization. Less taxation and regulation that leads to environmental disasters and businesses policing themselves which we know is a free for all. There has to be a balance struck but what is that balance? Taxing both suburban and rural areas most evenly? While protecting all that each depends. It seems to be and all or nothing type scenario. It also seems that Portland and other cities in Oregon have become hot beds of rampant crime and little punishment.
