  1. What does Elon consider a normal life? Many humans lead very wasteful lives and some not so much. Humans have to be willing to alter their extravagant lifestyles and most will not. I am a middle aged person who feels strongly about minimizing my foot print on our planet. I do not live in a remote place in a tent and do heat my home with a utility I pay for, I do drive a car but I make conscious choices every day to walk gentler on the planet going about my day. I hate the attitude of if you live a semi traditional life you are a hypocrite for advocating for climate change legislation of any kind. Many say with all the plastics we use why ban plastic bags well some change is better then none and making that change may lead to other significant changes. You can be environmentally friendly and still live a happy, healthy, comfortable life with less impact and if everyone had that mind set we could make a real difference. Problem is many will not and some will fight against it with a disdain perhaps seeing it as more control. Living a life of less is freeing not constraining.

  2. Sadly that is true but do we make it worse and worse? US should be setting an example to the world and be innovators and visionaries in to the future. Our plane is screaming and we have to listen.

  3. Progress often comes from the top whether we like it or not. Musk has the where with all to create and advance technologies most people cannot. Its a double edged sword.

  4. Sadly it is those poor countries that have a far smaller carbon foot print then our country has and they pay for it with often very dire consequences.

  5. I agree it should not be mandated by elites but we should want to live a gentler life on our planet and sadly many do not. Even those with kids and grand kids that blows my mind. How can those people not care they will inherit the dump we leave them.

  6. You can live a less destructive life for the planet and get your needs met. Without living in a remote place in a tent, with no car and use electricity and natural gas just be mindful turn thermostat down a bit, buy less at first with what you do and then it becomes a way of life and it feels good not constraining or imposed. Choices made throughout our day can help and if everyone did practice less consumption and car trips here and there or condense them if possible, conserve water, use less plastic, napkins and straws, recycle, reuse, leave behind less food waste. We would be so much farther ahead. People think that living an environmentally friendly life means losing freedom and I feel more free doing it. I have peace of mind knowing I am doing my part.
