Many religions expect and demand that one suspend all critical thinking and surrender to a figure head of God. The mere fact that one would allow the interpretation of text by someone who claims to be an authority to be their truth is baffling on its face. No wonder these individuals would not want to grapple with complex truths and nuanced arguments, it requires empathy, open minded consideration and intelligence to do so and calls into question a narrative that has become their identity. A true leader or teacher would not want you to suspend your beliefs and thoughts but explore and cultivate them through careful information gathering and study.

Truth empty headed for sure. Suspending all judgement and thought to exult a man who shows us every day how unhinged, dangerous and psychotic he is.

Anyone who listened to Rush Limbaugh for large periods of time would make anyone nuts. As an independent who likes to hear liberal and conservative views I was astonished by the garbage that man spewed along with Glenn Beck and the like. I often wondered if RL was really as he portrayed or it was his brand either way he was a danger to our democracy and his loss was welcomed.. he indoctrinated a lot of MAGA republicans and helped set the stage for the mess we are in.

@GaryChurch-hi8kb I like to listen to both sides of issues, policy andI come down in the middle most of the time. There is no place for extremism on either side. I certainly think Trump is a clear and present danger.

@Dr.TJ1 I only listened to him in his vile stage.. I would sit in utter astonishment at the things that man spewed. I am glad he is no longer here to pollute the airways.

This is not surprising to me. One would have to suspend critical thinking to still accept that Trump is their man. Besides the fact that these people are seeking out silos of information that corroborate and solidify their thinking. Also I believe they have been so deeply invested in thought and identity that to abandon these ideals would be like rejecting themselves and many they love and respect. They also feel part of something bigger then themselves and are fighting the good fight no matter how ill gotten it is.

@kgs2280 I kind of agree about knowing what the enemy was thinking. He was scary and ignorant beyond belief. I remember hearing things some of what came out of his mouth or his loyal ditto heeds which are all he really took calls from and they would suck up to that pom pass ass. I was nauseating as you said.

@sheldonmarcotte8392 also the extreme left agenda in juxst position to the Bush admin and Rush Limbaugh gatbage is what has brought us here. One fed the other and vuse versa. If we maintained a central political climate and policy this would not be happening in 2023.
