"Our politicians, and I'm not talking Andrew Cuomo here, do not understand the concept of consent." Ooh, the shade, Louis, the shade! Careful, hes gonna get the DACA to shut you down for that one!

I was a homeless person when I arrived to the US, after the family friend which my family was staying with kicked us out of her place in MA. Let me tell you, the MA DTA and everyone there moved very quickly to ensure we had a place to stay (probably because there were 2 minors involved but whatever) and put us up in a hotel that, while it had it's problems (drug usage/distribution, adults being trashy, kids running around wild) it looked like it was a mansion compared to the shitholes people call "homeless shelters" in NY.

@Zuriki09 Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile have all killed 3G, with T-Mobile being the only one having some 2G support left that is soon to be killed

I just had an example of this happen to me today. i took apart some plastic trim piece on my car and I couldn't figure out how to put it back together. There was no info on how to put it back on the internet (that I could find), only on how to take it apart. So, I relented and took my car to a shop, where the owners of the shop took 5 minutes of their time to show me how to put it back together, and didn't charge me anything. We laughed about it, I was a little embarrassed, but hey, at least it was taken care of. I am most definitely bringing my vehicle back to them whenever it needs anything.

Exactly why I dont want a car with a camera and microphones pointed at me that I can't turn off, or one that sends my GPS data and everything about my driving habits to God only knows who.
16
@jcnot9712 cheap clones are usually not as reliable of storage as the original, given that they're made with cheaper materials and all, so you wanna store your data in some high quality, genuine storage media.
9
Shoulda just quit and started your own business if you were that good at it
7
Small businesses do deserve a bailout. Businesses that spent all of their money buying their stock back and are now broke because of it do not.
7
@rossmanngroup Bullshit. You've opened the door for so many people to revive what was a dying industry, all because Apple and co. make stupid money from overcharging for repairs.
7
@Calendyr you guys worship Windows too much, lol. I don't blame y'all, I did too. But that was before the fucking May update fucked all of my data to the point where it was unrecoverable. At least Mac users dont have to put up with that bullshit 🤣
7
Have you even seen the traffic in Louis's videos? He's speeding and they're overtaking him. At 25mph he's gonna get himself killed.
7
@Okurkaarrgghh because the bike lane is constantly interrupted by assholes who think it's their own parking lane
7
Holy smokes, this was painful to watch. Who the f@!k designs a board so that if a chip fails, your data is 99% f@*$!d!? What kind of absolute morons does Apple hire for their circuit board design!?This board really makes you want to punch an engineer in the face! I'm triggered, and this isn't even my machine.
6
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Louis. I'm gonna go reserve one _right now_! so I can mess with it and get rid of all of the bloat/spyware, not because I'm an idiot who doesn't value my privacy
6
Apple won't lose. Epic violated their rules, which means Apple was in their full right to boot them off the platform. To be fair, I hope Epic loses because of what they did while trying to "compete" with Steam.
6
Aaron Janit Apple does NOT need to compromise the security of the iPhone because "its a free market". It's their mobile platform, their app distribution platform which they spent a lot of money developing and maintaining it over the years, and they get to decide how they use it. Don't like it? Buy Android.
5
Hopefully this isnt some awful corporation "lobbying" Cuomo/DeBlasio, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it is
4
@SDguy3030 Wanna talk about corrupt, take a long hard look at McCuntnell
4
This video raised my blood pressure. Thank you, Louis! For showing us once again how incompetent the government is.
4
@Calendyr I know that macbooks are plenty unreliable, and I blame Apple's braindead hardware development team for that, but I've literally never heard of anyone losing their data because of OS updates (on Mac at least, I know the whole error 54 fiasco on the iPhone fucked your data too)
4
@tin2001 There's a reason why the iOS platform is statistically breached less often than Android, and that is because it is way more locked down in regards to what they allow the user to do vs Android, who just lets you do what you want, at your own risk. Point is, opening 3rd party access to downloads and installs would drastically increase iOS's vulnerably to attacks, as apps hosted outside of the App Store wouldn't be subject to Apple's security screening before they're able to be installed by users.

@r.rodriguez4991 Fortnite isn't a useful marketing asset for Apple anymore. Apple wouldn't have dreamed of banning Fortnite when it was exclusive to the iPhone, but now that basically any Android device made in the last 5 years can play Fortnite, Apple doesn't care. Epic Games should've used that leverage to negotiate a lower percentage on in app purchases (which is what they wanted in the first place) instead of suing Apple and causing this whole mess. Also, let's face it. The only reason Epic is suing Apple is because they want to get their Epic Games Store on the iPhone. I think (as stupid and horrible of a take that this is) that Apple has earned the right to control their platform. If Epic Games wants to compete, have them fund their own R&D and make their own phone. Bet they won't, cause they just want a piece of Apple's monopoly on apps in the iPhone, not to make their own monopoly.
3
@Joestorm2000 oh hell no, I can't handle Bang. That shit will have me twitching like a crackhead!
3
The collab we didn't know we wanted!
3
@twce5576 Development of the iPhone began in late 2004, beginning of 2005, so it's totally plausible that this happened.
3
This is particularly sad coming from Honda, considering the fact that the DIY/modding car community for Hondas is arguably one of the biggest one out there, close to the cult following of American muscle cars.
3
HP has always been more repairable than most other laptops made by mainstream brands, in my experiences.
3
While, yes, employees are working from their homes, they are on company time. And while being on company time, a company should be allowed to have whatever metrics they want, as long as it's not illegal to collect said data.
2
This is why its actually good that Linus owns his damn company . I guarantee you that if LMG was a publically traded company, the board of suits and investors would not have let him put out such a potentially revenue hurting video out there.
2
The 30% is INDUSTRY STANDARD. Every other company that hosts apps for download charges a 30% in app purchase fee. While I hate Apple, I hope they win, because if not, then we'll have the exclusivity bullshit we had with Steam vs EGS on the smartphone market.
2
@r.rodriguez4991 per their distribution/development agreement with Epic Games, Apple is entitled to a 30% fee for ALL the In-App purchases made in the Fornite iOS app. Epic Games agreed to it, and they shouldn't be wanting to stiff Apple on their comission. Also, yes, Apple makes big margins, that's just good business. They charge for apps because they spent money settling up the distribution platform + the R&D that goes into making a shiny new iPhone model each year.
2
@Hallucinogenichusky Apple can and will charge as much as developers are willing to give up, and why shouldn't they? It's a business, it operates in the interest of it's stock holders. That's just how it works.
2
@somersault1123 You have no idea how business works. Apple will charge the industry standard, or as much as developers are willing to give up. That'd be like you setting up an app distribution business, then charging the industry standard fee, and having devs come up to you and say "No, no, no, no, no. You're charging me too much, even though you're giving me access to a big chunk of the smartphone market, which is more likely to spend money on my apps rather than if they were hosted anywhere else. You're charging me too much because you're too big!"
2
@r.rodriguez4991 That's different. Access to the Internet is a standard feature that's expected on all IoT/"smart" devices nowadays. Access to Fortnite isn't standard, nor expected. When Fortnite went to Android, there was nothing in it for Apple anymore aside from the 30% cut. Apple does have a monopoly on the App Store, and that is because they created the App Store, they own every right to the App Store, they maintain the app store, and frankly, that 30% cut is what you pay to have access to one of the biggest app distribution platforms ever made, in which users are more inclined to spend money on vs Android. It's kinda like NYC commercial real state. You don't pay for the space, you pay for the ability to make money.
2
@somersault1123 Again, you're arguing for policing how much a company can charge for access to their large distribution platform that is solely funded by themselves and how much they can charge developers for access to their distribution platform. Just think about that for a second, and how (fuck it I'm gonna do this) borderline Anti-American it is.
2
Honestly surprised that I, as a left leaning individual find myself agreeing with every word on that article.
2
Fun fact, the new Mercedes Benz C300, the latest and greatest version of their small luxury offering, does not have Nav, despite being fully capable of supporting it. They're kneecapping the cars capabilities through software to push people into "tech packages" and higher trims/ more expensive models.
2
Way to go New York, you've given Louis PTSD over your tax bs.
2
@MikehMike01 bro what?
2
How much do you wanna bet that she'll get 5 years of probation and that's about it 🤣
2
My current landlord is selling our building and kicking us all out after 6 years of renting from him without missing a payment
2
@niyablake Rob Ferretti from SuperSpeeders?
2
@tro7e lol I will never buy a macbook for personal use. I like having control over my own stuff and being able to tinker. I was just pointing out the fact that Windows can sometimes have catastrophic fuckups, and Apple seems to have their software division working right. If anything, I'd build a hackintosh, but I'm happy with my current system, Windows fuckups included and all.
2
In before the governor vetoes the bill after having dinner with a John Deere lobbyist.
2
Virtual cards aren't the end all be all solution to dealing with scummy businesses. They're aware of them and they'll ban the Bank Identification Number (the first 6 digits of every credit/debit card) of the most common virtual card providers under the guise of "safety and security"
2
@jcnot9712 I myself keep a copy on an enterprise level hard drive I paid a lot of money for. If that starts to click, I know its time to make another backup and either repair or replace the drive. Hasnt happened yet, thankfully
2
@DeeSnow97 I got the same idea. They're gonna try and pull the same bullshit that they did with Steam on iOS. Let's hope Apple wins so we don't have to deal with it. As much as I despise Apple and Tim Cock, I hate Epic Games and Tim Swine more.
2
@treymiller5736 Nope. I'd say Apple should just give the middle finger to Epic. They broke their agreement, they should suffer the consequences of it.
2
Ironic that this is Deutsche Bank talking about this, considering how their biggest client is about to be in deep shit 🤣
2
Welcome to Florida, Louis!
