@snarkloaf I live in Washington where countless Washingtonians own firearms and they open or conceal carry, it isn’t the Wild West. California might be though even though they have some of the strongest restrictions. 😂 If a parent with a firearm walked in to the school in Uvalde, far more children would be alive. Too many people rely on police that are too scared or just plain worthless.

@snarkloaf Less guns doesn’t work and could never work in a country as free as ours. People will die regardless of the amount of guns in this country. We can look in areas with heavy restrictions and see the murder rate is higher. Then we can look at areas with the least restrictions and see the murder rate is lower. I understand the emotions you have with children but removing the ability for a parent to protect them is worrisome since police tend to fail a lot. Reviving and reopening our mental institutions would be a far better act. Lock up people with schizophrenia, bipolar, heavy depression and psychosis and you will see a dramatic decline in violent crime and murder. Mental health is the biggest problem plaguing this country and we literally promote and enable mental problems. Topping that with incentivizing a two-parent household while minimizing the welfare system would be extremely beneficial as well.

@snarkloaf Those countries also have restrictions on free speech, they are extremely homogeneous and are highly authoritarian when compared to the US. Much like the countries I listed… And I agree with you putting some of the blame on the repubs, for voting against mental health measures. Both aisles of the establishment are against the betterment of the people, one way or another.

@txferretgirl I am just showing you how you are being disingenuous with your stats. Some states “gun deaths” are predominantly suicides while others are murders. You can’t compare apples to oranges even though they are both fruit…

Biden says the new gun legislation is going to “save lives”. So is the SCOTUS’ new decision on Roe v Wade. 😂
