@Playboyy1985 Yeah I am not sure why I wrote RGB, thanks for the correction!
“Doctrinal limbs too swiftly shaped, experience teaches, may prove unstable. The most prominent example in recent decades is Roe v. Wade.” -RBG
The 14th amendment provides a right to privacy. SCOTUS reached really far with abortion and the current SCOTUS pulled it back to the state’s choice. Therefore, it is not “set-in-stone” constitutionally, making it not a constitutional right.
Personally, I’m not against abortion in some cases. There are the obvious ones like because of r*pe or incest, however those reasons are less than 5% of abortions. The exemption for the health of the mother is an obvious one for me as well. However, I don’t agree with the funding by tax payers for abortions nor the abuse for lazy or careless women. But, I do believe that most Americans shouldn’t reproduce. With that being said, those are my opinions and I will stick to what the constitution states instead of my feelings. This should be handled on a state level not the federal level. Abortion isn’t a right it is a privilege, a privilege that many abuse.
In regards to the “right of privacy”, I don’t agree with the states trying to track or prosecute someone for going out of state for an abortion. We do have the 4th amendment which guarantees freedom of movement. But we also have the Patriot Act (unconstitutional) which supersedes the right to privacy. We also saw how something so little as Covid can rid of us of our “right to privacy” as well.
