@muddyduck64 California and NY are the two responsible parties in the shutdown that hurt the US economy. California represents 14.6% of the US economy (5th largest economy globally) and NY at 8% (10th largest economy globally). That’s a massive number for just two out of fifty states. Especially when considering they knew what would happen with the economy booming under Trump for the 2020 election and what would happen if the economy took a dump.
