I've heard it was a mine, possibly even Russian. Russia claimed it was a ukranian mine. Ukraine claimed Russia had seized a bunch of Ukranian mines in Crimea 2014. Turkey got involved and claimed they believe it was possible Russia set up Ukranian mines and a recent storm dislodged a few. One of the rouge mines in the black sea, roughly 10 in total, hit the Russian ship.

Ukraine said they were Mines taken from storage in their Crimean port annexed by Russia and set near odesa, by Russia. Ukrain said there are a little over 100 and a recent storm knocked about 10 loose. Turkey chimed in and claimed they believe it was possible Ukranian mines, set by Russia, were let loose by a storm, one of the rouge mines hitting the destroyer.

@artelkins5554 sounds like you only watch youtube and don't follow the written statements made by governments. You probably believe there was a 40 mile convoy despite it actually being a convoy 40 miles from Kiev. Media likes to run with what sounds best. Like calling what Russia clarifies a destroyer a cruiser. If you do stick to YouTube at least try Michael Kofman. He's a former Soviet citizen working for a think tank in DC. head of Russian studies. He'll give you a much more realistic view then the media.

@artelkins5554 I'm pro Ukraine and pro logical understanding, not just following propaganda. You'll learn if you look at the conflict when the dust settles and things clear up.
