  6. He ignores the fact that Putin had spent decades setting up strong relationships within EU that would cause a cascade effect of anti democratic forces within European governments. We have been at war with Russia all in many ways that a regular citizen would never have noticed unless we point it out.

  10. Mearsheimer is just “an opinion”!!! An opinion that appeases authoritarianism. The more I research history and listen to real life stories and accounts of the past & present, the less I approve of Mearscheimer’s theories. NACY PELOSI IS 100% CORRECT- he has become a useful idiot

  11. He claimed his belief is based on facts yet this is based on HIS assertion of what was said or done. The arguments in this interview are flawed. And the interviewer did a terrible job with his own argument.

  12.  @antoinette3828  Yep. And he is the 1st “professional” I listened to when the full scale invasion of Ukraine started. (Had no prior knowledge or opinions of geopolitical issues at that point ). I was completely sold on his narrative and his point of view around the world, …. Till I started listening to Ukrainians fighting on the ground. Also, Estonians, Latvians, fins, Georgians, Moldovans Hungarians, Polish , and Belarusians all telling the world what Russian and Ruski Mir means to them. They don’t want it. They don’t like it. They NEVER WANT TO EXPERIENCE IT AGAIN. Only way to stop Russia using political power and propaganda against us is to use force. If force is not used … well Russia will see weakness, march on through and take over. Anyway. Mearsheimer’s point of view is based on hearsay and interpretation of circumstances. Like all other narratives. Morally I don’t agree with him because he accepts the right for an oppressive regime to have power, control ,negotiation rights, a voice and neutral acceptance alongside us. We are not perfect and that’s a fact. But what is also a fact is that we have the most modern and successful system in the world today and the largest group of allied countries in modern history.

BBC journalists left the company when they realised they couldn’t report truth about anything to do with russia because Russian influence in the company wouldn’t let them. Russia spend billions on media influence programmes. Both mainstream and social media.

Can say goodbye to Democracy and the best multi cultural alliance in modern history that successfully lifted over a billion people out of poverty and provided a comfortable life and unimaginable opportunity for prosperity. If John’s narrative is what speaks truth to your morals , you haven’t explored enough geopolitics, history or listened to real people who live in conflict zones or who have experienced the effects of authoritarian regimes being forced upon them. But what do I know. My truth is your idea of lies and vice versa. 💁🏻‍♂️
