  3. I don't know if Janet Guthrie failed to get major sponsors because of her sex or her driving skills, but I suspect it was a little of both. You never mentioned her winning anything. On the other hand, drag racer Shirley Muldowney did actually win some top awards. I suppose if you really want to know who is the best at anything, make them all use the exact same equipment.
