  1. The Us Army Air Force was created on June 20, 1941. The US Army Air Corps continued to exist as an organizational construct within the USAAF until the establishment of the US Air Force in 1947.

  2.  @TheHistoryGuyChannel  That is correct. My point was that the USAAF was created in 1941, not 1942. There is longstanding confusion about this because the term Air Corp was used throughout the war. It took a while before people in and out of the military started saying Air Force instead of Ar Corps. A a result, there is a common misconception that the USAAF was created after America's entry into the war, when in fact it was created and in place before we entered the war.
