@josephdupont The Alamo was an internal Mexican revolt. The Texicans were fighting for their independence. The USA stayed out of it. So it was not "our guys" who were killed there. It was American expatriots who knew exactly what they were doing and the risks they were running. Our government had no desire at the time to be dragged into a war with Mexico. That would come a decade later under a different set of conditions. Thus does politics maker strange bedfellows.
