  1. We studied the Pantelleria operation as part of our AFROTC progam in college, but you went into far more detail in your presentation. Many air power advocates still believe victory can be achieved from air and space without resorting to nukes or guided asteroids. This theory will only become reality when the enemy cannot hide far enough underground to avoid destruction. Perhaps the answer rests in tiny programmable drones that can selectivity target and kill their victims, rather than weapons of mass destruction that ravage entire populations.
