  1. I remember the incident well because, as a kid of the 60s, I was infatuated with the B-70, the sleekest, most gorgeous aircraft I have ever seen. The loss was tragic and completely avoidable as you pointed out. I am baffled by only one small point. You state the plane was fueled with JP8 that day. JP8 did not enter military use until 1978. I'm not even sure it existed in 1966.
