Death Hunt was pure fiction and painted the heroes as villains and the villain as a hero.

@TheHistoryGuyChannel Complete BS is a more accurate description. The movie made Johnson the hero and portrayed some of his pursuers as either villains or incompetent clowns. The portrayal of the Canandian flying ace was particularity insulting.

@blueenglishstaffybreeder6956 Really? I'm not the one bragging about beating up a Mountie or anyone else for that matter. My original claim is that the movie is pure fiction, not an accurate account of the real incident. In fact it is an insult to the men who were involved in the chase. All the comments that followed do not pertain to this fact. They are simply rantings by people who don't mind that the reputations of good men were tarnished in the name of entertainment.

@blueenglishstaffybreeder6956 The facts of the case are well established. I would add that the former WWI ace did not strafe a bunch of people, killing one of the guides, nor crash into a mountain and die. The movie is tripe, plain and simple. Had it not been based on real events and real people, I would not have minded so much. As for Ned Kelly and his armored suit (yes, I am familiar with his story), I would classify him the same way I would classify Billy the Kid. Much lore has arisen to obfuscate the truth and there were mitigating factors to make him a somewhat sympathetic character (ditto for Jessie and Frank James). But the lack of any mitigating circumstances makes the character of the Mad Trapper far less than appealing or sympathetic.
