  4. Projecting the stereotype of second lieutenants, this young officer has great difficulty following simple orders. Based on what I've seen I'd say the cops greatly overreacted and the young officer needs a plastic belly with ear holes (if you don't know what I mean, think about it a minute). Now that the city manager has been fired for wanting to follow due process and the city council has given control of the department to the mayor, I expect the ex-cops and former city manager to file massive lawsuits against them all for wrongful termination. No winners here.

  8. This is not the first time a suspect has been killed by an officer who thought he was using his taser. You said the taser was carried on the opposite side of her duty belt. Are you sure about that? I presumed these mistakes occur because the officers are carrying their tasers and service pistols on the same side of their belts. If so, then perhaps such accidents could be avoided if the tasers were carried in cross-draw holsters on the opposite side of their belts. This won't change the behavior of a suspect, but it could help prevent an officer from making such a needless and horrific mistake. If it turns out the taser was in a cross-draw holster, then the only other thing I can think to do is paint it blaze orange.
