  1. We had a couple of V-100 Commandos (M706 Duck) at Camp Bullis back in the 1980s. We used them to train air base defense teams, but they were pretty tired vehicles by then. When the Humvees came out we thought they were a great improvement over the M151 (successor to the Jeep), M-1008 CUCV (modified GMC pickup), and Peacekeeper armored car (Commando Ranger). This was before Afghanistan and Iraq, which stretched the utility of the Hummer in the combat and combat support role. It's nice to see the successor to the Duck is doing so well.
