@scallopohare9431 How do we know that is true? Indeed, how would you know that is true? Our minds often recall details inaccurately, and as times passes we tend to reshape and merge memories without ever realizing it. For example, I recall the Swedish authorities arresting a crazy Muslim foreigner and prosecuting him for the crime, just as I remember Nelson Mandela dying in prison.

@scallopohare9431 I'm also a fossil from the Jurassic Age when rote memory was a common learning technique. The problem is, unless there is audio and/or video documentation, we have no way of proving or knowing our recollections are accurate. Few people possess such cognition and recall skills. Are we 50% accurate, 80%, 99%?

While I doubt South Africa would have murdered a democratic leader in Europe, the fear of what would become of their country if the ANC took over turned out to be justified. Ditto for Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). The other two suspects seem equally unlikely. You said the PM was not readily recognizable, so the idea that some lunatic mistook him for someone else seems highly improbable or the worst case of coincidence ever. For one of the eye witnesses to have been the killer would have required extraordinary timing and the need to already be armed and ready. How could he have know in advance the PM would be walking past unprotected? One other point I should make is that when interviews are conducted immediately following a traumatic incident, they often will lack details that are not mentally sorted out and recalled until later.
