Does this mean we should be rooting for the Houthi Rebels?
2
@tinayoga8844 I'm an engineer, Jim, not a mechanic!
2
A supply chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
2
"Louie, I never noticed before - you're black!" "Oui." "Arrest that man for profiling."
2
My daily dose of GasX.
2
@rainbowodysseybyjonlion That would depend entirely upon how you define better. The San Antonio I knew is gone. No doubt those who lived there long before me felt the same way. I came from a small community, spend decades in large metro areas, and have retired to an even smaller place than where I started. I don't miss the noise, lack of privacy, and congestion. I do miss some of the conveniences and opportunities, but I consider the tradeoff worthwhile.
2
@PremusRed In a physical sense, yes. In a strategic sense it would be like losing Alaska and Hawaii, ending our reign in the Pacific. Were we not such a powerful country, I have little doubt Russia would have tried to seize Alaska long before now.
2
@Taranaki66 My brother-in-law is a native Chicagoan, so I'll go with braggart.
2
I will make you an offer you cannot refuse.
2
Peter, could you do a video on the pro-Russian/anti-Ukrainian posts? What percentage do you think are real and what percentage are either bots or Russian trolling? Is it working to shape western public opinion?
2
I'm afraid Peter got this topic wrong on so many different levels, but I see others have already address them, so I won't beat a dead horse.
2
"Use it or lose it" is not a winning war strategy.
2
Do all Russian leaders have a 19th century mentality?
1
During WWII the US decided not to invade Taiwan and kick out the Japanese because viable assault beaches are few and the terrain highly favors the defender. The PRC, with a completely untested military, would be assuming very high risk if it tried. I doubt they would secure the island quickly, if at all, and I suspect it would be a bloodbath if they tried. This doesn't mean they won't. One need only look at Ukraine to see how Communist myopia and group-think works.
1
I guess the "Make love, not war" mantra doesn't resonate much in Teutonic DNA.
1
It would present NATO with a backdoor into the war.
1
Did you mean "ruining"?
1
Red Lobster . . . mmmm
1
China: How to make friends and influence enemies - not!
1
China sucking the life's blood out of another country? That's inconceivable!
1
@noneofyourbiz6885 At least it isn't a blue and yellow whale spout. Have you seen those?
1
The clown show that these two world leaders represent is proof God has a sense of humor.
1
Calling the Iranian leaders "slightly nutty" is like saying the Titanic is a bit late to port.
1
@martian9999 "China", meaning the people, aren't calling the shots; it's Xi. In this sense he's like North Korea's Kim Jong Un.
1
@ericreed4535 What do they do with the burgers, submerge them in a vat of hot oil? Mind you, it wouldn't surprise me if they did. 😉
1
What could be worse? China invades Taiwan and nobody gets any high end chips.
1
You had me at "lithium sucks".
1
From Russia without love.
1
Next, Russia will be telling us the Ukrainians caused the Holodomor and Stalin tried to save them.
1
@TomTomicMic Hmm, what comes next on the English frustration/anger scale? Is it flabbergasted?
1
I wouldn't mind trying their yogurt, but I'll pass on the blue cheese.
1
Without food and water, all else is superfluous.
1
Vlad is consolidating his power again. What will replace the Wagner Group, the Putin Group?
1
Oklahoma, where men are men and sheep worry. No, wait, that's Wyoming.
1
Jumping ahead a bit, if Iran attacks Turkey, NATO gets drawn into a war on its southern flank. Would this take pressure off Russia?
1
@cathjj840 No, I'm just wondering how this whole episode could unfold. I have a friend of Armenian descent who just got back from the area. The prospects for Armenia are grim. If Azerbaijan tries to create a southern corridor to its disconnected region (which I believe it will do), then it's only a matter of time before they attempt to crush Armenia as the Turks once did. How will Iran and Turkey respond to this future action? If it draws both countries into conflict, there is a chance NATO may become involved as well, presuming Iran overtly attacks Turkey.
1
These aren't the droids we want.
1
How do they export power to other island nations?
1
eblman5218 I simply want to know how they export geothermal power off their island. I presume it is converted into electrical current, but how does that reach another island nation? What sort of distances are involved?
1
I'm always encouraged to give my money to people who begin by insulting me - not!
1
What does it say about long-term priorities when you're in a lock-down with little more to do than play on the internet or play with your spouse, and your population still continues to nosedive?
1
So it's basically political theater.
1
Russia could bring in Chinese engineers and laborers.
1
@Evan490BC Where did you find the lightning bolts?
1
"That is not a nuke-you-ler cooling tower" - shades of George Bush. 🙂
1
@johndoe-vc1we I think Israel's tits are beating Iran's proxy tats.
1
@eden5260 And making money at it. The modern rainmaker.
1
Russians lie, but I repeat myself.
1
We're dealing with armed and dangerous children in the middle-east.
1
@TheEdquito Zeihan is wrong. It very much is socialism, albeit one of the most corrupt forms of it. But that's what happens when the government owns or controls everything.
