  1. The states do not have unfettered control of federal elections. If they did then the SCOTUS would not have intervened when some states tried to term limit members of Congress. Before somebody is removed from the ballot he/she needs to be convicted of an actual crime that justifies such action rather than the political whims of a few judges. Otherwise you are only setting the stage for a true insurrection.
