(I can clue you into his perspective) It's alarming at first when your girlfriend responds like that, and you start to wonder what is "wrong" with her, at least initially, but once you find out the reason, it's a sense of immense pressure. You know it's make or break with this woman, and if you mess up, she might never be okay. There's also a small sense of pride and satisfaction. It does feel nice to be "the guy." He seems like a catch! Good on you two! Make babies. 😁👍🏻
