Did someone change the definition of slavery to be "voluntary paid labor" Instead of "involuntary unpaid labour?" When did that happen?

Cant_Touch_This Can we stop with the "Amazon didn't pay taxes" myth? They paid taxes. They also had write-offs. Every company does.

@CT-yc4gd they might not be able to charge more, and they also might not be able to eat any of the extra cost in the mean time. Either way, people aren't going to be able to receive an hourly wage above market point equilibrium without consequences.

@scottsch6505 Its moreso the willingness, which is why all that weird sex play isn't actually wrong, since it's consensual. Just like with internships and unpaid apprenticeship. The willingness is more important than the unpaid aspect. Ownership is really only a component of chattel slavery, which isn't how most slavery has functioned throughout history.

Cant_Touch_This Oh good God, they got "exposed by Bernie Sanders and the progressive movement?" Jesus Christ, man. It's a public company. Go look at their published numbers. They paid taxes in 2018, they just had write-offs. You know what a write-off is right? What deductions are? Because it seems like you don't. Also, "for once in your life be honest." Have we met? That's a weird thing to say to a stranger. Is English your native language?

Cant_Touch_This why are you using double negatives? It's needlessly confusing. They paid taxes in 2018. You can't call me out of touch with reality when you can't even cite a source (no, not upworthy or mother Jones, I'm talking about their numbers from the horse's mouth) to back up what you're saying.

@CT-yc4gd you need to look at profit margin. Most smaller companies are getting by with a tiny profit margin, which would disappear with higher wages.
