That means you would have to have a common ancestor mutate a fused gene, somehow not die or be horrifically deformed or infertile, AND find a mate with the SAME EXACT mutation. Not very likely... Unless "someone" was doing some "gain-of-function research" with Sahelanthropus Tchadensis (our common ancestor!)
