  1. Nuclear doesn't fit into the leftist worldview. Environmentalism is inherently misanthropic. The idea that humans can invent a way to get cleaner, safer energy without "cutting back" or "returning to nature" upsets them, so they push against nuclear usually.

  2. It's shocking how little progressives understand about energy, renewable energy (and how it doesn't even exist right now), and the economy (signalling you're going to end a pipeline and drilling on public land will cause prices to rise.)
