  1.  @kw5961  Many reasons. The fact that Russia is so ethnically connected to Ukraine made all the Donbass shelling threatening to their fellow Russians in the East. Ukraine is a straight-up Western puppet, so they're more against his interests than a Latvia or Lithuania, and Ukraine sits far closer to Russia than the others. It is pushed up inside it almost.
