@deathescape1 Bingo. No need to attribute malice where ignorance will suffice. Teenagers rebel. It's part of growing up. No need to implicate "leftism" or "socialism" or "Democrats" or "the media" for something Socrates was complaining about thousands of years ago.

No, he said BLM is a cult. TikTok is just the medium she shared the video to.

@jeffwalker7273 Exactly! But can't you see? Any teenager that rebels against his or her parents is a "leftist socialist drone!" (Even though I rebelled from my parents and became a libertarian, but I guess people like me don't count, eh?) And before anyone asks, no, the people blaming all teenage rebellion on leftism and socialism and the media don't have any data to prove rebellion isn't a part of growing up. They're just as ideologically possessed as the people they wish to defeat.

@badmanicpower I think he called them uneducated on account of them being tweens and teens. There is a copious amount of learning awaiting them in the next decade of their lives. I think "uneducated" is fair; if he had said "stupid," I would've take umbrage to that.

Bingo. Every teenaged boy or girl has cried about how different he or she feels and how much his or her parents will never understand. What the kid needs is empathy and conversation, not to be rewarded with internet dopamine hits for saying the right words. This will reinforce the behaviour instead of help her understand herself and her family better. 😕

@davidking4779 You don't have to cut them off from television. It's a modern art form. The medium itself is experiencing a golden age of storytelling and production quality. It's very much possible to raise decent children while not disconnecting television.

@davidking4779 The claim was all kids have rebelled and said they hated their parents. I linked a quote from 2500 years ago of someone making a similar complaint. I highly doubt "the TV and cellphones" were the issue there. Old people blame technology whenever kids do their typical, predictable rebellion. They even decried the written word when it became mainstream. The cultural revolution going on and the world celebrating the teenage rebellion is harmful; your diatribe about technology is irrelevant and rhymes with the previously mentioned communication technology Luddites

Wut?

Yeah, and it failed.

Who, Tuck? A simple hair part? Maybe 80% of men over 40?

@SMarie5541 Why are you acting like everything is a simple dichotomy? Like there are only two boxes you can fit I to. Humans are more complex than you're making them out to be. Peep the recommendations I made for sharp minds recommending new ideas at the bottom of the comment I left above for some resources.

Not seeing a causal link, chief.
