  5. There is another problem impacting Germany. They used to have a very good system of small, local banks which were very helpful to small German businesses. (I think they were called "Landesbankes") They were the foundation of the German industry and enabled it to remain stable, through good times and bad. These are now disappearing, being swallowed up by big banks which have far less interest in small customers.

I think it is almost certain that the reason we have such an inadequate set of leaders in Europe (and the US, come to that) is that they have all been selected because they are vulnerable to blackmail, i.e. not because of their abilities. They all bought into the twin myths; that Russia was very weak and badly organized and that NATO was the "greatest military power the World has ever seen" and they thought therefore, that the Russians would buckle under when the UAF attacked Donbass and the sanctions struck home in Russia. Now that it is becoming clearer by the day that they miscalculated on every assumption, they have no way to turn. Time to panic, in fact.

When Britain stopped making coal gas and instead decided to burn natural gas, all the nozzles in all the burners in the country had to be changed, either modified or replaced. If the Germans now want to use Hydrogen, all their burners will have to be modified or replaced too.

  46. Re overestimating our own power: The US has been moderately successful against a number of small countries such as Panama. It failed to defeat China when it was the greatest military on the Earth and China was the poorest country in Asia. It failed to defeat the Vietnamese. Ukraine's army was the best trained, the most battle experienced part of NATO and it is not doing well against Russia. The US had to resort to diplomacy to subdue a group of Cuban engineers(!), in their invasion of Grenada. They now want to take on the Russians, the Chinese, the Iranians, all at once? Why not take on the North Koreans at the same time? Since the Ukrainians have been using up NATO's stocks of weapons fast enough to leave the NATO stockpiles dangerously depleted after three months, how long do they, in Wash DC/Brussels, think they could last (against all three) before having to give up/sue for peace or use nuclear weapons?
