His is a very likely explanation of the CW's elites' behaviour They are not only incompetent and arrogant, but perhaps (it seems likely to me) that they have been reading too much of their own propaganda and subconsciously absorbing its message. There is also the phenomenon called "confirmation bias"; they read their own rubbish and sort of believe it and then they read more of it and think something like: "Well every report is saying the same thing", and as it is what they want to believe it, they go on to think: "so it must be true!" It's something like "hoist with their own petard"!

Yeah! Trump "talks the talk" and I think that usually he means well, but in office he surrounded himself with a collection of evil people like Bolton and Pompous Maximus and when he gave good orders, such as "Get out of Syria!" the Military ignored him and nobody's head rolled.
