  3. There are several decisively important diferences from the 60s. First, there is the internet and social media. Second, there is the Muslim World, which had no religious interest in Vietnam. Thirdly, there is a big Muslim vote in the US which is largely Democratic voters. Fourthly, the Arab countries are far less puppets of Washington than they were then and are better armed. Fifthly there are Russia, China, Turkie and Iran hovering in the background and in the UN. Sixthly, there is far less US control of the UNGA and the Security Council. Seventhly, there is a far greater debt problem hanging over the US. There may well be others that I have forgotten.
