The scheme in the USA whereby sponsors pay lobbyists to pay large sums into the election funds of candidates who, once elected, vote funds for the government to buy the products of the sponsors' firms, which provides the funds for the lobbyist to pay the for the congress critter to get re-elected, is what one might call a "vicious circle". (The tangent to the VC is the "Revolving Door".) This vicious circle, is a very strong structure, with very deep roots and will be very difficult to destroy. It is also the antithesis of democracy.

I have been thinking about "Writing" a book by collecting the headlines in Yahoo's daily digest of news, about Ukraine winning, Russia losing, failing, being corrupt, and China collapsing, breaking down in a civil war, attacking the USA and headlines about the USA's struggles to defend and promote Democracy! Might make interesting reading, if one could stomach it.
