The harsh core of the "Liberal International Order was always there, it was just kept out of sight better while the USSR existed. George Orwell saw it and Senator McArthy showed it, When the USSR collapsed, the Illiberal reality began to show through, (E.g. The Patriot Act) because there was no need to compete with the Soviets any longer. I often think that things like mandatory holidays, sick pay, limited working weeks, Health and Safety Regulations and the like were all introduced into Western industrial life in an effort to compete with the USSR. In a way, the chief beneficiaries of the Russian Revolution, were the Working classes in the West!

40:00 You will not get a permanent peace while you have a privately owned Arms industry, which has its shareholders in powerful positions. Isn't that absolutely obvious?

1:04:24 You mean like NATO gave Ukraine security? This must be some new definition of "Security" of which I was, hitherto, unaware!

@jason8434 What you say is at least partly true, but, the Western socialists were able to make a lot of temporary gains in Western Europe after WW2, because the ruling class were scared that they were going to face a revolution if they did not match the benefits that the Russian working classes had gained by theirs.

@elenaustyuzhanina297 Yes I would agree with that. Make sure you keep those benefits! You will need to keep a close eye on any proposed "Reforms" of them. Ruling classes are always looking for ways to claw those rights and benefits back! Any proposed "Reform" needs to be looked at very closely, in the light of the old question "Qui bono?" For example: In the late '50s, there was in Britain almost no "Drugs problem". There were a very few ex-colonial civil servants who had acquired an opium habit during their service in the far East. These were treated free by the NHS. The police were almost completely unarmed. The Conservative government under PM Harold MaMillan, said that this "free treatment of a very few despicable characters" was unfair to the rest of the population and in future they would have to pay for their prescriptions, thus joining the US's "War on Drugs", which started about the same time. The result was a huge boost to Organised Crime's finances and a real "Drugs Problem" and many more armed police. I think the next to go, in Britain, was free dental treatment.

14:32 It isn't a contradiction, its a fraud. The reality is the hard-nosed bully "You do it my way or else!" the Soft and gentle, tolerant image, is a disguise, a camoflage.

41:25 The West may be "Oh, so deeply" committed to Ukraine, but obviously, they do not care tuppence for Ukrainian people!

7:44 I would say that the "the Liberal International Order" was always, at least at heart, partly fraudulent. Take the WTO as an example. So long as the WTO was dominated by the US, the US was quite happy with it, as it enforced its rules on everyone except the US. The US was happy to strongly urge the Chinese to joint the WTO and China did, in spite of many well-wishers who told them it would ruin them and that it was a trap. Then when, some years down the line, the Chinese availed themselves of the WTO court, to ask them to enforce US compliance with WTO rules, the US sabotaged the Courrt and prevented its functioning!

56:36 And in addition to all that you say, there is the destruction of the Myth of NATO Invulnarabity..
